Larry Didway, superintendent

Larry Didway, Superintendent

Larry Didway joined Clackamas ESD as superintendent in July 2021, after spending the previous 10 years as superintendent of the Oregon City School District. Larry, who was born and raised in Clackamas County, began his career in the Salem-Keizer School District, where he taught in the talented and gifted program. He then moved to Oregon City as an elementary school teacher, and later spent three years teaching English in Japan. He then returned to Oregon City, and his many roles prior to becoming superintendent in 2011 included middle school principal, human resources director and assistant superintendent. Larry holds an M.S. in education: language acquisition/gifted education/curriculum from Western Oregon State College, where he also earned his B.S. in elementary education. He also holds a B.A. in political science from Willamette University.

Ewan Brawley, Assistant Superintendent

Ewan Brawley, Assistant Superintendent

Ewan Brawley became assistant superintendent of Clackamas ESD in 2019. In this role, he oversees multiple departments within the organization, including the teaching and learning, early learning and special education teams. Ewan originally joined CESD in 2017 as director of teaching and learning. As director, he developed new partnerships, improved collaboration and executed large-scale learning opportunities. Ewan has extensive administrative and teaching experience, and is passionate about assessment, equity and school improvement. He has worked as an educational assistant, teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal and principal, and in multiple central office roles in both large and small school districts. Ewan holds an M.Ed. from Arizona State University in educational leadership and supervision, and a B.A. in Spanish from Penn State University. He earned his teaching credentials from Arizona State University and his professional administrator license from Concordia University.

Jared Hayes, Director of Special Education

Jared Hayes, Director of Special Education

Jared Hayes joined Clackamas ESD as director of special education in August 2021. He oversees multiple services to our regional districts, including our Life Enrichment Education Program and our Heron Creek Therapeutic Program. Jared is no stranger to CESD, having served as a LEEP administrator from 2011 to 2016. Most recently, he held elementary special education and student services administration roles in the David Douglas School District. Jared began his career as a school psychologist in Kentucky, Ohio and Oregon and moved to Portland in 2000. He has a deep passion for serving students experiencing learning challenges, as well as collaborating with multiple partners to ensure student success. Jared holds a B.A. in psychology from the University of Louisville and an M.Ed. in school psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Boston.

Dawnnesha W. Lasuncet, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator

Dawnnesha W. Lasuncet joined Clackamas ESD in March 2020 as equity and inclusion coordinator. She focuses on changing ineffective policy and practices, cultivating trusting relationships with our partner districts, and ensuring all staff members have what they need to thrive in a healthy work environment. Dawnnesha began her career as an elementary school teacher in Los Angeles and moved to Oregon in 2007. She previously worked as an education equity specialist at the Oregon Department of Education, providing professional development and instructional coaching for administrators and educators across the state. Dawnnesha has a gift for working collaboratively, and a passion for helping her education colleagues think critically and systemically to interrupt inequities and barriers to student wellness and academic success. Her work with students and families includes partnerships with Oregon’s state agencies, nonprofit organizations and grassroots communities which center historically underserved populations and address educational inequities. Dawnnesha earned a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California, Irvine, a cross-cultural language and academic development K-12 teaching credential from California State University, Long Beach, and an M.Ed. in adult education from the University of Phoenix. She is also a certified life coach.

Jeremy Pietzold

Jeremy Pietzold, Chief Information Officer

Jeremy Pietzold was named Clackamas ESD’s chief information officer in July 2022, after serving in that position on an interim basis for six months. In this role, he oversees overall technology strategy, infrastructure operations and customer support. Jeremy has been with CESD for more than 20 years and has served in multiple technology leadership positions, most recently as assistant director of technology and data center services. He was instrumental in designing and developing CESD’s regional data center, which serves dozens of large organizational customers throughout Oregon. He also has a passion for improving technology networks and bandwidth capacity, and has helped bring in millions of dollars in grant support to improve internet connectivity in Clackamas County. Jeremy holds a B.S. in business administration with a focus on management and computer science from Western Oregon University.

Carey Pinto

Carey Pinto, Chief Financial Officer

Carey Pinto became CFO of Clackamas ESD in March 2024, after serving as assistant director of fiscal services since 2022. Before joining Clackamas ESD, Carey spent eight years serving in a variety of progressively responsible roles in the North Clackamas School District, ending her tenure there as director of fiscal services. She also previously was accounting and budget manager in the Salem-Keizer School District. Prior to moving into the education finance field, Carey worked for several mutual fund firms in California and Oregon focused on fund accounting. She holds a B.A. in business administration with an emphasis in accounting from Pacific Lutheran University.

Chelsi Reno, Chief Human Resources Officer 

Chelsi Reno joined Clackamas ESD as chief of human resources officer in July 2022. Chelsi came to the agency with 13 years’ experience in school district administration. In her current role, Chelsi leads a skillful team that focuses on Clackamas ESD staff issues and provides consultation to colleagues across Clackamas County and throughout Oregon. Most recently, Chelsi was the associate director of human resources in the North Clackamas School District for seven years, and also spent six years as the director of human resources for the Lincoln County School District. Prior to those education roles, Chelsi worked as a human resources administrator for 11 years in the private sector, primarily in health care and human services.  Chelsi holds a bachelor’s degree in business management/human resources from Boise State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University. She earned her Oregon professional administrator license at Lewis and Clark College in 2021, and her certification as a professional human capital leader in education through the American Association of Personnel Administrators in 2016.

Shirley Skidmore

Shirley Skidmore, Strategic Communications Director 

Shirley joined Clackamas ESD in December 2019. As strategic communications director, she leads a variety of internal and external communications activities for the ESD; manages and supports many ESD projects and events; and collaborates with our district partners to provide communications services and support. Shirley has more than 30 years’ experience leading communications teams and an array of strategic communications, marketing and public relations initiatives for public, private and nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she led communications for the OHSU Foundation, Marylhurst University, former Washington Superintendent of Public Instruction Terry Bergeson and the Chalkboard Project (an Oregon K-12-focused nonprofit). She earned an M.A. and B.A. in communications and a B.A. in English from Washington State University, and began her career as a TV reporter, producer and anchor.

Sara Snow, Director of Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Programs

Sara Snow became the director of early intervention/early childhood special education programs in July 2022. Sara has been with the Early Learning Department since 2018, starting as a supervisor of evaluations and processes, then as a coordinator overseeing different EI/ECSE functions and the childcare resource and referral team. As director, she continues to lead the early intervention and early childhood special education services for children residing in Clackamas County, and build connections and opportunities to support children in inclusive environments. Sara has taught a variety of grades at the elementary level and as a special education teacher, providing support across the K-5 setting. Before moving to Oregon in 2018, Sara was an assistant special education director in Colorado and oversaw special education services and supports for children and students birth to 21. In this role, Sara witnessed the power of providing early services to young children. Sara holds a B.A. in elementary education from Alma College, an M.A. in special education from Wayne State University, and administration credential from Colorado State University.
