Examples of Classified Staff include, but are not limited to, educational assistants (aka paraeducators), instructional coaches, secretaries, administrative assistants, customer support representatives, payroll accountants and clerks.

Compensation

  • Competitive salary with annual increase in both wages and cost of living adjustments

Time Off

  • Paid holidays
    • Classified instructional staff working a school year: 8 paid holidays per year
    • Classified office-based staff working year-round: 9 paid holidays per year
  • Vacation
    • Classified instructional staff working a school year: recess periods during the school year and summers off
    • Classified office-based staff working year-round: accrue 1 vacation day per month, with higher vacation accrual rate after year 3, with 1 year carry-over provision
  • Sick Leave
    • All instructional staff working a school year: 10 days paid sick leave per year with unlimited accrual and carry-over
    • All office-based staff working year-round: 12 days paid sick leave per year with unlimited accrual and carry-over
    • All staff: ability to transfer in up to 75 days of unused sick leave if your previous employer was Oregon PERS-based
  • 3 personal business days
  • 2 family illness days per year
  • Paid professional development leave
  • Classified instructional staff: 3+ paid planning days per year, depending on position

Licensed staff includes teachers (employees who hold a teacher’s license or are registered to teach by TSPC), specialists (employees who have a teaching license or a letter or authorization from the Oregon Department of Education), occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech pathologists.

A “manager” is an employee of CESD who possesses authority to formulate and carry out administrative decisions and represents the District’s interests, often requiring the supervision of other staff.
