Board of Directors
Clackamas County residents elect a seven-member Board of Directors to govern Clackamas ESD. Five members are chosen by zone (area in which they live), and two are selected from the county at-large. They serve four-year terms. Members come from a variety of backgrounds and professions and share a common interest in providing excellent educational opportunities across the county.

Board Members
Linda Brown, Chair
Linda Brown was elected to an at-large position in spring 2015, and has been a long-time school volunteer and education advocate. During her 12 years on the Lake Oswego School Board, she served as the Oregon School Boards Association (OSBA) legislative policy chair, and while on OSBA’s board, served on policy review, governance and Common Core stewardship committees. She currently is chair-elect of the Oregon Association of Education Service Districts. She has served on the National School Boards Association Pre-K Advisory Committee and Oregon’s Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, and currently is a member of the Lakewood Center for the Arts Board of Directors.
Linda serves in one of our two at-large positions.
Jon Eyman, Vice Chair
Jon Eyman was appointed to a vacancy on the Clackamas ESD Board in 2004 and then elected to the position in 2005, representing Zone 4. After a brief career with the Oregon State Highway Department, he joined his family business, and since the mid-1970s has owned and operated Eyman Equipment, Inc. Jon, who was born and raised in Clackamas County, previously served for 12 years on the Canby Grade School Board of Directors.
Jon serves Zone 4, which includes Canby School District, Colton School District, Molalla River School District and the majority of the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. See Zone Map
Wade Byers
Wade Byers was sworn in to the board in May 2018. He has served as the Gladstone mayor and on the city’s council, budget committee and planning commission. His budget experience also includes serving on the Clackamas Community College budget committee. As a Gladstone Elementary (now John Wetten Elementary) alum and West Linn High School graduate, Byers is a proud product of Clackamas County schools.
Wade serves Zone 1, which includes the Gladstone School District and portions of the North Clackamas and Oregon City school districts. See Zone Map
Nadene Duffield
Nadene Duffield has represented the county at-large since 1996. She was a teacher in public schools for 30 years, and is a long-time volunteer as a teacher/tutor in the Oregon City School District and Portland Public Schools. She also is a docent at the Stevens-Crawford Heritage House in Oregon City. Nadene holds a Bachelor of Arts from Portland State University, and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Lewis & Clark College.

Rick Larson
Rick Larson was appointed to represent Zone 3 beginning December 2024. Rick devoted his 40-year career to education business operations and fiscal management, including service as chief financial officer for the Centennial School District and interim operations director for the Oregon City School District. He is a certified public accountant and Oregon municipal auditor, and spent several years as an audit manager for Pauly, Rogers Accounting, conducting financial audits for multiple school districts and education service districts. Rick and his wife have lived in West Linn for more than 28 years.

Len Mills
Len Mills was appointed to the CESD Board in November 2006 as the representative from Zone 2. He is a retired teacher from the Reynolds School District with a great deal of experience working in talented and gifted programs. Len holds a Ph.D. in education. His experience includes administration, and district-wide program and achievement evaluation. Len is active in a number of nonprofit organizations. He and his wife live in Milwaukie.

Susan Trone
Susan Trone represents Zone 5 on the CESD Board. She has volunteered in many local education and youth programs for over 30 years. Her five children all attended Redland and Oregon City public schools. Susan currently works at Oregon City High School as the state testing coordinator and serves on the Site Council at Oregon City High School.
