Today, technology plays a foundational role in school operations. Teachers, students and administrators use smartboards, iPads and laptops daily to display lesson materials, help students with complex communication needs engage with the world, and manage school data and operations. Clackamas Education Service District’s technology support team works tirelessly, often behind the scenes, to meet our agency’s and our partner districts’ technology needs.
Two members of the team, Rob Moore and Jessica Erickson, have served Clackamas ESD with their exceptional skills and unwavering dedication for a combined 15+ years. They provide solutions to the day-to-day technology problems of Clackamas ESD’s 500+ employees as part of a larger tech support team providing an array of services to our 10 partner school districts, from network security to device repair.
“Each year, Rob and Jessica go above and beyond to turn around equipment to ensure staff have what they need for a successful back-to-school kickoff,” Daniel Hunter, Clackamas ESD technology supervisor, in praise of the two.
Rob and Jessica each support other technology projects for the agency.
Rob is a cornerstone of Clackamas ESD’s operations. He has brought many innovations to Clackamas ESD, developing ways to use technology to connect our different systems so we can work smarter and more efficiently. In 2023, he was instrumental in Clackamas ESD’s adoption of the ParentSquare communications tool, automating how staff and student data from our iVisions and Synergy systems integrate into ParentSquare.
“I literally get to see every position in the agency, and seeing the breadth of Clackamas ESD’s work is profound,” Rob shares.
A biking enthusiast, Rob bikes to work daily and has commuted 7,000+ miles on his bike since joining the team in 2013.
Jessica has taken on many special projects since joining the team in 2018, including helping one of our partner districts recycle 14 pallets of old hardware and completely upgrade its technology to better serve teachers and students, and setting up the technology infrastructure at our Heron Creek program when they moved to their new home at the former Marylhurst University campus.
The daughter of a teacher assistant, Jessica was inspired by her desire to support those who serve students.
“I wanted to support the people who help students. I got a lot of support from teachers and speech-language pathologists when I was a kid, and I wanted to give back,” Jessica explains.
